Activity Overview
The Frank Lloyd Wright Trust make the great architect's home available to the public while also providing informative public tours, programs and events at many of the major buildings he worked on through out his life in the Chicago area. They also provide special educational programs for young people and families along with tours for school groups and seminars for teachers.
Things to Do
- Current programs that are aimed at children include Origami Workshop at the Morton Grove Public Library and a class on Art Glass design held at the Bartlett Public Library, both of which are free. The Lego Architects program teaches the children the basics of architectural design and allows them to construct a Lego model of their own floor plan.
- The Wright 3 Mystery Tour is based on Blue Balliett's novel "The Wright 3", it is led by a child tour guide and takes place at Robie house, the actual setting of the book.
- The Holidays at Home and Studio tour takes place around Christmas time and allows visitors to explore the Wright home and hear about how the Wright family used to celebrate the festivities. Hot chocolate included!

- Not all of Wright's buildings are wheelchair accessible although staff have done their best to make as much as possible available to handicapped guests. Many of the tours are perfectly accessible to wheelchair users. It is best to call ahead of time to make sure you will have no problems.
