Activity Overview

Get to know the early beginnings of Nashville and the life of its first settlers. Fort Nashborough was the first settlement area built with a log stockade and 20 log cabins covering 2 acres of land. The place was the living area of the pioneer settlers which also served as their protection from wild animals and Indian attacks. Today, a small-scale replica of the original settlement was built in the area. It's a small place and can usually be toured in less than 10 minutes. While most reviews say that the area lacks maintenance, it still is a good place to learn about the roots of Nashville. Cross over and visit when you're in the riverfront area.

Things to Do

  • Visit the site and go on a self-guided tour. There are plaques and markings near the cabins that you can read as reference for the history of the place. All the cabins are closed and boarded up but you can still take peek by the windows.
  • The tour will only take a maximum of 10minutes. Drop by the area when you are going around downtown Nashville, get good views of the Titan's stadium, and proceed with the other attractions by the riverfront.

Fort Nashborough Insider Tips

  • Plan to visit the area as a quick stop on your itinerary.
  • The place is open 24/7 but be extra careful when you visit at night.
