Activity Overview

Fell's Point is a historic waterfront neighborhood listed as a part of the National Register of Historic Places, and was the home of Eastern European immigrants from when it was first founded in the late 1700s. Fell's Point is easily accessible by Metro or bus from downtown Baltimore (a short 15-20 minute ride away)

Things to Do

  • See the Carroll Museum and Phoenix Shot Tower - the tower was the tallest building in the United States when it was first built in 1828. A shot tower was used to make shots - firearms in the old days before the bullets. Unfortunately, you can't go inside the tower and no guided tours are offered so best to just take photos outside.
  • Take a water taxi to Fort McHenry or some of their other offerings - a great way to see Fell's Point from the water or just for scenic views of nearby towns.
  • Dine at the quaint restaurants that are dotted within the area - you'll find some that are facing the water, making for a great ambiance
  • Shop at the local shops for unique goods.
  • Walk around Thames Street Park.

Fell's Point Insider Tips

  • For movie buffs, Fell's Point was shown briefly in a scene from Sleepless in Seattle - showing the boats from the marina as one of the characters is leaving her car.
  • There are lots of small neighborhoods within Fell's Point, such as Jonestown, Little Italy and Upper Fell's Point which houses pretty buildings and authentic food.
