For the most basic decorative jewelry making, all that you need to get started is a box of basic paper clips. In this activity, you will link the paperclips together to form a chain and then add personality and style to your chain with the addition of decorative washi tape and craft jewels. Once you get started, you won't want to stop.
Materials Needed
- Paper clips
- Decorative Washi Tape
- Craft Jewels or sequins
- Glue Gun
- Scissors
How to Make It
- Link paperclips together by sliding one through the opening of another and moving each of the paperclips along the inner edge of the one before it until they form several links.
- When you have achieved the desired length for your bracelet or necklace, take your two ends and link those together as well
- Now, snip about 2 inch segments of colorful washi tape.
- Wrap each piece of washi tape around the center of each paper clip link so that it covers the center of the paper clip.
- You can leave the necklace or bracelet as simple as this or you can also add some bling by gluing craft jewels or sequins to the washi tape.
