Create spectacular and vibrant abstract art using toothpicks, paint and Mod Podge. This art project is great for all ages to enjoy. All you need are some very simple and easily accessible items and some wooden craft shapes that you can find plentifully and inexpensively at your local craft store.
My children have always loved doing spin art, but now this art project has become their new favorite for creating this similar artistic effect. Have plenty of wooden craft shapes on hand because once the kids get started with this art project, they will not want to stop creating them.
Materials Needed
- Mod Podge
- Acrylic Craft Paint
- Wood shapes
- Toothpicks
- Glue gun ( optional)
- Ribbon ( optional)
How to Do It
- Lay down some newspaper on your work surface.
- Drizzle the Mod Podge randomly all over the top of your choice of wooden craft shapes.
- Next, squirt on paint colors on top in any random way that you desire.
- Use a toothpick to spread and mix the paints in different directions to make designs
- Allow the wooden craft shape to dry.
- If desired, when the project is complete and dried well, you can use a hot glue gun to affix a loop of ribbon so that you can hang your toothpick painting masterpiece.
