Activity Overview

Fairytale Town is a children's park located within William Land Park in Sacramento, California. This 2.5-acre park features a seemingly endless array of fairytale-inspired play areas that help bring classic children's stories to life and encourage imaginative play. As you and your child wander through a fantasy world filled with objects from your favorite storybooks, you can visit animals, explore gardens, and see live performances on one of two stages.

Things to Do

  • Explore Fairytale Town with your child - you can visit Mother Goose, sit in Cinderella's pumpkin coach, slide down Jack's giant beanstalk slide, and have a picnic in Pooh Corner.
  • Don't miss the animals! They include the Three Blind Mice, Eeyore, and Charlotte the Spider in Farmer Brown's Barn, Mary's Little Lambs outside the schoolhouse, and the Three Little Pigs, who of course live inside of the brick house that survived the wolf's huffing and puffing.
  • Take your little one to Sherwood Forest, a beautiful Robin Hood-inspired playground that features a huge climbing fort.
  • Visit the alphabet garden, where your child can learn the letters of the alphabet while seeing beautiful plants and flowers that start with each letter.

Fairytale Town Insider Tips

  • If you're planning to visit the Sacramento Zoo, which is also located within William Land Park, you can save money on admission by buying a combined ticket. Learn more here.
  • Fairytale Town offers lots of exciting kid-friendly educational programs, including workshops, day camps, a theatre arts program, and classroom visits - learn all about them on their website!
  • Follow the rules - don't feed the animals (they have special diets), keep your shoes on so you don't hurt your feet, and don't bring along any balloons, straws, or lids in order to help keep the animals safe.
