Activity Overview

The Discovery Children's Museum recently relocated to Symphony Park in Las Vegas in March 2013, and with it came a lot of changes and updates. Take a tour and feast your senses on three stories of 9 fun-filled exhibits, including a water works and an invention station. If you're traveling over a birthday, this is a great party stop complete with an exceptional staff that will help you iron out all the details. And if you're a Vegas local, the museum caters to schools and students by offering exclusive field trip packages as well as a Discovery on Wheels activity bus that can visit classrooms and home schools.

Things to Do

  • Patents Pending: This invention station gives kids and their families the opportunity to test their best scientific theories; try your hand at the Air Tower and the Quake Proof and see if your ideas can hold up!
  • Solve It! Ancient City: If you've ever wanted to be an archaeologist, here's your chance; get your hands dirty as you dig up and date ancient coins, identify different bones, and learn about how to sort and date all sorts of archaeological evidence
  • Toddler Town: Perfect for the little ones! Become a train conductor and learn about Nevada's local wildlife, all while climbing, playing, and exploring. Even those who can't walk yet can enjoy the Crawl Zone, a perfect place for the littlest ones to still experience and learn
  • Water World: A favorite in every science museum, splish and splash around lock systems and pipes while you learn about the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and the Bypass Bridge

Discovery Children's Museum Insider Tips

  • There is no food in the museum, but since their relocation, Discovery is now participating in the new food truck plan in Las Vegas. Unique food trucks will be at the museum throughout the week, and they change quite often, so you'll have the chance to taste an array of different foods!
  • Parking is free in the garage next to the museum and in the lot behind the museum. If you want to park right in front of the museum, parking is $5 for the day.
