Activity Overview

All kids love dinosaurs and being able to spend a day in a park where dinosaurs once roamed can sure bring a lot of excitement. The Dinosaur Valley State Park is a place where the entire family can discover footprints left by the dinosaurs in the bed of the Paluxy River.

The Dinosaur Valley State Park is located just a short drive from Fort Worth and boasts a wide range of activities suitable for children of all ages.

Located just four miles west of Glen Rose, the park is easily reachable via Highway 67. Children 12 years and under do not pay the entrance fee.

Things to Do

  • Discover dinosaur tracks in the riverbed. Remember to check the weather conditions beforehand.
  • Explore the 20 miles of trails in the park
  • Bring your own horse and explore the 100-acre South Primitive Area.
  • Backpack campsites are available at the Dinosaur Valley State Park, most of them including picnic tables, electric hookups, fire rings, lantern posts, and more.
