The Dinosaur Discovery Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin explores the link between the great pre-historic carnivorous dinosaurs and the birds of today. They have a permanent exhibition dedicated to investigating this topic and a range of programs and events designed to interest children in this fascinating subject.

Things to Do

• Take your kids to the free "Dino Digs Mega Excavation". This event takes place once a month and allows kids the opportunity to work alongside other children using archaeological tools to excavate skeletons and clean real dinosaur bones.
• Head along to Dinosaurs In The Dark, an evening time event where dinosaurs come to life in the dark shadows around you. This event is free
• Around Halloween time head to the Boofest which is also a free event. Here your kid's can go on a creepy dinosaur hunt and investigate dinosaur mummies. Come along in whatever costume you like!
• The permanent exhibition in the Main Gallery acts as an effective primary on dinosaurs and archaeology. A good collection of dinosaur bones and fossils are there to be seen. There is also a section with the most frequently asked questions on dinosaurs which aims to answer just about any question a novice may have on the subject.

Dinosaur Discovery Museum Insider Tips

• Although entrance to the Museum is free they do suggest you make a $2 donation per person to the museum to help with its upkeep.
• The museum is closed on Mondays all year round. It is also closed for a number of holidays, a full list of which can be seen here.
• Both free and metered parking is available on the streets surrounding the Museum. There is also limited parking on the northwest side of the Museum grounds.
