Activity Overview

New York city children can explore and interact with rich American history, at the DiMenna children's history museum, located in the New York historical society building. This is the only children's museum in the New York city of its kind, where children can explore the history by utilizing many hands-on tools.

Middle and high school children will get to engage with history in an interactive and fun way, at the 4,500 square-foot mini-museum. Mini-museum offers education, fun, learning, exploring, where everything is child-sized, a one of a kind museum with so much learning to offer.

Things to Do

• Children can explore 350 years of the American history, and learn through interactive exhibits, digital games and character-based pavilions.
• The vicinity houses the Barbara K. Lipman children's history library, where kids can learn more with the help of reference books and amazing Atlas maps.
• Families can avail the family membership, parents can also receive special benefits.
• Museum offers child-sized replicas of the buildings. In Hamilton's section, children can learn about the history of American currency.
• Kids will particularly enjoy the baseball exhibit, and the weaving activity.
