Founded in 1939, the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, Ohio was one of the very first contemporary art institutions in the United States. It is unlike most other art museums because it does not maintain a permanent collection, instead choosing to focus on hosting temporary exhibitions. The museum also puts an emphasis on showcasing new art, and over the years has displayed works by relatively unknown artists such as Andy Warhol who later became famous. If your family likes art and is interested in seeing new works, this museum is certainly worth a visit.

• Attend one of their Family Festival events which encourage children to participate in hands-on art projects with guest artists and educators.
• Enjoy free admission by visiting between 5 and 9 p.m. on Wednesday nights.
• Take your little one to Thursday Art Play, a special program for children between the ages of 3 and 5 and their parents that includes performances, art activities, and storytelling.
