The Clyfford Still Museum is a unique art museum in Denver that focuses solely on the works of Clyfford Still, one of the most important Abstract Expressionist painters of the 20th century. After his death in 1980, his will required that his entire estate, including over 3,000 works of art he created from 1920 until his death, be donated to an American city that would establish a museum to showcase his art. Eventually Denver was chosen, and in recent years it has become the home of a fascinating museum that contains approximately 95% of the artwork he created in his lifetime.
