Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation is located along the banks of the Charles River, provides an opportunity to explore American history in innovation and technology since 1812. The museum is housed in one of the America's first textile mills, Francis Cabot mills. Many events are organized at the museum that highlight innovations from the history till the modern times.

The mission of the museum is to preserve industrial heritage, featuring the most prominent companies, such as, The Orient Bicycle, the Boston Manufacturing Company, Metz Automobile, and the Waltham Watch Factory.

Things to Do

• A textile and Fashion Arts exhibit is currently in progress at the museum, it features Haute Couture and High fashion accessories from the late 20th century. The exhibit is assembled by the Fashion icon Yolanda Cellucci.
• Children will enjoy displays of the old machines and historic innovations, adults will also enjoy displays, including Waltham watches, bicycles with wooden rims, models of trains, an old time clock, and antique fire engine and steam engines.
• Many interactive and hands-on activities are offered for the kids.
• A nice small museum, where kids can actually touch the machines, and get to learn a lot about the history of industry and innovation.
• The volunteers at the museum are very knowledgeable, and ready to answer questions.
• Many restaurants are located in the area surrounding the museum.
• The venue can be reserved for weddings and private parties.
