Activity Overview
With a collection of planes from different eras, the Cavanugh Flight Museum aims to promote aviation education. Most of the museum items are part of the personal collection of Jim Cavanaugh, an aviation enthusiast works on restoring old war planes. Not only does the museum clean up the planes, they also restore it to its flyable state. Aircrafts inlcude Cessna SkyMaster from the Vietnam War era and the P-51D Mustang from WWII. Based from numerous reviews, little kids have a grand time seeing the planes. Children aged 3 and below get in for free.
Things to Do
- Take the family on a self-guided tour of the museum or call ahead to book for a formal tour appointment. While there are informative signs for each aircraft on display, it's better to get a tour guide so you can inquire more about the plane's history. - Choose your ride. The museum offers a 30-minute flight experience over North Dallas aboard one of the warbirds. Prices vary based on the plane type. This is only available for passengers 18 years old and above.
- Visit the museum gift shop and purchase aviation-related apparels, gifts, and die-cast plane models.
- The museum also accepts reservations for children's parties with optional activities such as a tour of Addison airport aboard a private military vehicle.
