Activity Overview

Keep the birds happy in your backyard and repurpose cardboard toilet paper tubes all at the same time with this user friendly Paper Tube Bird Feeder craft. This craft is great for crafters of all ages and so easy to make.

Your whole family will enjoy the bird watching and warm feeling that ensues when the birds come to feed on your gift to them. In addition, by adding a bird feeder to your yard, you are getting your backyard one step closer to becoming a certified wildlife habitat.

Materials Needed

  • Toilet Paper Roll
  • Peanut Butter
  • Bird Seed
  • Spoon or butter knife

How to Make It

  1. Cut a piece of string, poke a couple of holes near one end of the toilet paper roll, and tie the ends of the strings through them. If you do not have a string available, you can simply slide the tube on the brach when finished.
  2. Smear peanut butter on the empty toilet paper tube with your spoon or butter knife.
  3. Roll it in bird seed.
  4. Hang your toilet paper roll bird feeder in a tree and watch how much the birds enjoy it.
