Activity Overview

About an hour's drive from Burlington, VT, the Cabot Visitor Center in Cabot, VT offers patrons the opportunity to watch cheese making in action and learn a bit about Vermont agriculture.

Take a guided tour which demonstrates cheese making on the manufacturing floor and also, through a short film, teaches about the history of the Cabot Company, which dates back to 1919 and produces award-winning dairy items.

  • Appreciate the scenic drive to the center, which many say is worth the trip in and of itself.
  • Following the tour, sample the Center's many different cheeses, such as "Best Flavored Cheddar" and "World's Best Cheddar."

  • Fee for a guided tour is $2.00; children under 12 are free.
