Activity Overview

The Bucks County Children’s Museum is an interactive educational attraction for young children located just 40 miles north of Philadelphia in New Hope, Pennsylvania. It features a variety of hands-on exhibits designed to teach children about topics such as health, science, recycling, and money in a fun way. If your little one likes to pretend, many of their exhibits are also great for imaginative play, from the virtual hot air balloon experience to the town square, where they can dress up as a police officer or a chef.

Things to Do

  • Stop by the new hospital exhibit, where your child can dress up like a doctor, drive an ambulance, and test their five senses.
  • Help your child create their own race car at the Factory Works exhibit! Once you're finished, you can watch it fly down the racetrack and improve it as many times as you want.
  • Learn about all kinds of great ways to recycle while exploring Bucks County Country, a special exhibit made entirely from recycled materials, which features everything from a giant tower to recycled instruments!

Bucks County Children’s Museum Insider Tips

  • The museum is recommended for children between the ages of 12 months and 7 years, so if you have older children you may want to find another activity for them.
  • You're welcome to bring along your own food and drinks as long as you keep them out of the gallery areas. Visitors can eat in their multipurpose room when it's not in use or out on the patio.
  • Make sure to check their calendar before visiting, since the museum is often closed on Mondays.
