A beautiful place to visit especially when the weather is warm, the Blue Springs State Park is home to the largest spring on the St. Johns River. This is the perfect choice if you want to engage in a wide variety of outdoor family activities, including camping, hiking, boat tours, fishing, canoeing, and more.
The Blue Springs State Parks is a designated Manatee Refuge, and if you visit the park when the weather cools down, you can see dozens of manatees who come into the springs to get warm. The Blue Springs State Park is open 365 days a year and you are welcome to come with your car, bicycle, or as a pedestrian.

- Take the self-guided tour of the Historic Thursby house, which dates back to 1872 and can teach the entire family interesting things about life at the end of the nineteenth century.
- Pack a picnic and enjoy it in one of the three covered pavilions available at the Blue Springs State Park. If you want to stay overnight, you can rent an air-conditioned cabin.

- The 73-degree clear water of the spring is ideal for those who want to enjoy swimming, scuba diving, or snorkeling. Diving or swimming with the manatees is not allowed.
