Arizona Science Center

Activity Overview

The Arizona Science Center makes an excellent stop for children and adults alike. It is chock full of interactive and hands on displays which teach you about the wonders of the mundane, like what happens to us when we sneeze, to the extraordinary feats of the natural and scientific worlds. Alongside their set of permanent exhibits they have a rotating setup of special exhibits which sometimes require you to pay extra to enter. There is a planetarium and an IMAX Cinema too.

Things to Do

• There is a great selection of permanent exhibits to be enjoyed. On the first floor All About Me shows how the body functions both internally and externally even allowing you to walk through a giant replication of the digestive system.
• Forces of Nature will give you a new found respect (or fear!) of nature as you experience earthquakes, hurricanes, forest fires and volcanoes. The W.O.N.D.E.R Center meanwhile teaches you all about the incredible processes of the human brain.
• There are daily science demonstrations performed by the staff that are sure to interest and amaze visitors. They usually last about twenty minutes long and the schedule for the day's demos can be found in the Center's lobby.

• Make a full day of interactive learning out of it by visiting the nearby Children's Museum too!
• The Museum only closes for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
