Activity Overview

Appleton farms are a 1000-acre of pastoral landscape, the farm was established in 1636 by Samuel Appleton, it is one of the oldest continuously operating farms in the country. The farm has grassland, grazing livestock, historic stone walls, the farm has cows, sheep, goats and other animals. There is a dairy store to visit, trails to explore, pick up your vegetables and other activities to enjoy at the farm. Families and children can visit the farm all year-round and on any day of the week.

Things to Do

  • If you want to enjoy a fun-filled day at an old farm, head over to Appleton farms to view crop fields and cow pastures in the country's oldest farm.
  • Visit the dairy store, you can buy cheese and fresh milk by the cows grazing in the farm. Fresh eggs are collected from the chickens on the farm.
  • Children love to visit the farmstead to meet the jersey cows, goats, sheep and pigs. View milking at the milking barn everyday at 3PM.
  • Visit the farm during the growing season to pick your own fresh vegetables. You can buy breads, Liz lovely cookies, yogurt, ice cream, maple syrup from the dairy store.
  • From May until November you can visit the Carriage barn and learn about antique farm equipment.
  • Explore the trails and enjoy horse back riding.
  • Bring a picnic and enjoy at the stone paddock.
