Activity Overview

Ann Arbor hands-on museum was founded in 1978, it displays many interesting and interactive exhibits that encourage Scientific education and exploration in children and adults. The museum features over 250 interactive exhibits, which help children learn and explore different concepts in Science, Physics, Geology, Technology and Math in a playful and enjoyable manner. The museum attracts both local and international visitors, it's a popular attraction for the families, the museum has received many awards and recognitions.

Things to Do

  • There are many interesting exhibits to garner a child's attention, "Concourse" features whisper dishes, tornado, and the very popular water table. Children can learn vital facts of the human body in the "All about you" full size ambulance.
  • Bring toddlers (4 years old and younger) to the Preschool gallery, where kids can enjoy playing at water table, child-sized fire engines, and dress up as fire fighters.
  • The world around you exhibit features Bubble capsule, climbing wall and magnet exhibits. The Michigan nature exhibit tells a lot about Michigan. Take a flash back into the 1930's at the Lyons country store.
  • If your kid is interested in TV and telecom, take him or her to the Media works exhibit. Learn the striking concepts of light and optics in the DTE energy foundation light and optics exhibit.
  • The newly added exhibits include, water exhibit, Nano exhibit, blasting off a rocket and explore your world exhibit. Many special events are held for the children, such as the Minecraft programming workshops.
  • The museum can be reserved for birthday parties, there are many special themes for the birthday parties that combine fun with discovery and education.
  • There is no cafeteria, but families can have snacks at the vending area near the all about you gallery.
  • The gift shop stocks many science-based toys.
